What it is
A monthly survey of purchasing managers at firms in the Chicago area, manufacturing and non-manufacturing.
The headline barometer, where 50 divides expansion from contraction, with new orders, production, employment and prices paid. MNI publishes the figures.
Why it matters
It closes each month's run of regional surveys the day before ISM's national report.
