FHFA house price index
USD · Monthly, usually the last Tuesday · 09:00 ET. PTM rates it medium impact.
What it is
FHFA's monthly index of single-family house prices, built from repeat sales of the same homes financed with mortgages bought or guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
The seasonally adjusted change for the month, the change over the year, and the nine census divisions.
Why it matters
House prices feed into household wealth and, with a lag, into the shelter costs inside the inflation measures.
